However, due to the way they must be made, most hitch extenders will be longer than a shank and weaker too. Longer shanks that may only add 2 inches may be quite sufficient to provide desired clearance.&nbsp;</font>]]>

Now when I lower my tailgate, it hits the power jack.&nbsp; I need about 2 more inches of room so my tailgate will lie flat while the trailer is hitched up.<br></b>]]>
