Fits easily in the front storage area of the RP 179. It uses the 1lb propane bottle but can be converted to use the quick connect on trailer. It does not have a huge cooking area but more than adequate for 2-3 people. Plenty of heat to cook steaks. We have used it for over three years and it is durable and well built. I even put through our dishwasher once after cleaning it manually beforehand. This little grill is not as fancy as some of the more expensive ones but has served us well and just keeps cooking.

Adapters worked great, although pulling apart the stock regulator assembly was much tougher than the instructions implied--even with vice grips. Once that part was done, it was a matter of 3 minutes to screw in the new fitting, put back on the grill, and connect to the R-Pod using the provided hose. Tested it out briefly last night and got a good flame. Need to check for leaks later today.

Agree that smokey (and smelly) stuff is all going to get cooked outside from now on. We burned a pan of onions on a previous camping trip, and I swear I can still smell it inside.

I also ordered a low-pressure conversion kit from propanegear.com for $50 that included the adapter and a hose. Plus I bought another regulator assembly so I could easily swap between using the onboard 20# propane tank and the small canisters. Haven't cooked anything yet except the inside of the unit to burn off the oil, but will report back after I do.
