    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=6857" rel="nofollow">geewizard</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 9731<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 17 Apr 2017 at 2:36pm<br /><br />After looking at several small trailers such as the Winnebago, T@b, Airstream, and R-Pod, we decided the R-Pod fit us the best.&nbsp; We liked the construction, styling, and especially the large tank sizes and the Hood River Edition features.<br><br>We dipped our toes into the R-Pod world by picking up a used 172 and using it last fall.&nbsp; When we looked at the new 2017.5 (gray/blue/yellow) 177, we were "forced" to have one.&nbsp; Our 172 went to a couple with two small kids who loved the bunks.&nbsp; And we got a new 177.&nbsp; The slide-out gives so much more room.<br><br>We tow with either a Tundra or Highlander and use a Anderson No-Sway Weight Distribution Hitch.<br><br>And I've posted some mods I've done this spring on the forum:&nbsp; battery box, solar controller, battery monitor, and more storage space under the dinette seat.&nbsp; I also added a Blue Sea USB/12V socket under the bed for phones, etc.&nbsp; It's wired into the 12VDC running to the furnace.<br><br><img src="https://dh778tpvmt77t.cloudfr&#111;nt.net/images/products/180px_thumbnails/4353.png" height="180" width="180" border="0" /><br>And the mod I'm currently working on is installation of propane hose and fittings for a Wave 3 heater.<br><br>I'm glad this forum is here and I will no doubt learn a lot!<br><br><br>]]>
