    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=6506" rel="nofollow">Wepod</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 9727<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 17 Apr 2017 at 8:19pm<br /><br />I tow with a 2014 Ram 1500 quad cab 5.7L hemi 4x4. &nbsp; The truck has no problem pulling or stopping my 179 pod. &nbsp; I have a fiberglass cap on the truck as well as pullout bed drawers in the bed. &nbsp;I normally have a canoe on the roof and two bikes along with the "normal" amount of camping gear that finds its way into the truck for a 2-3 week trip.<div><br></div><div>A couple of things I have noticed with the Ram. &nbsp;First the Rams coil springs give a lot of rear drop when you hitch the trailer up. &nbsp;So you may want to consider using a WDH to move some of the tongue weight forward for a more level ride. &nbsp;I don't have a WDH but I do have a friction sway control mounted on the hitch the trailer just bounced around too much without it. &nbsp; &nbsp;Second gas mileage will be about 12-13mpg when towing. &nbsp;&nbsp;</div>]]>

I use a weight distribution and anti sway in one, the Fastway E2 6000. I wouldn't tow with out it, have done both (with and without), and with the peace of mind using one, makes for a more relaxed drive. <br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Not sure which Ram you have, but I have a friend who tows a 5500 pound trailer with the 4.7 liter V8 Ram with no problems.  And I tow a 3000 pound R-Pod with a Hemi, and the truck doesn't even slow down for hills. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;]]>
