Our oldest fell out one of the first trips while sleeping (and our youngest fell out just goofing around). I just used a bit of plywood to make a railing/wall that extends another couple feet from the bathroom wall. Bonus is throw some hooks on there and you have a nice place for jackets/clothes/stuff to hang.

If it's a ShurFlo it's designed to run dry for short periods. You can run it dry but you should remove and drain the glass bowl filter at the inlet. Don't worry about some water left in the FW tank. If it freezes there is plenty of room for expansion. For hard freezing you should winterize the whole system with antifreeze or blow out all the lines with air. make sure all faucets are open and drain the toilet flush valve It is particularly susceptible to breakage. Put antifreeze in the P-traps.

If you only expect an overnight freeze and can plug in you can put a small electric space heater in the Pod and open all the cabinet doors. Set the heater on low temp and keep the inside above 40 degrees. That will protect all the internal plumbing without winterizing.

The kids (4 and 3 yrs) are EXCITED (and so are the parents), I couldn't get them out of it on Sunday!

Question about temporary winteriaztion... the Pod came de-winterized. Even though I asked them to drain it, there was 1/2 tank of water when I got home. The trip back from SLC to pick it up was truly a test of our Sienna set-up as I drove through some horrific cross-winds and pounding hail through the Malad Summit area. Now that the storm is past it is supposed to drop to 20F tonight. I emptied the water tank but I am curious about the water left in the system. The manual says not to run the pump when dry... am I risking pump damage tonight with some water without antifreeze left after the tank was drained?

Thanks!
