With that many miles in store, I would check early into upgrading the tires from the stock load range C tires to load range D tires, especially if you decide on one of the heavier models such as the 179 or 180. On the lighter models, I would just keep an eye on the stock tires for unusual wear patterns which may be an early indicator of tread separation which will lead to tire failure. On our 179, I opted to go with Carlisle Radial Trail HD ST205/75R14 105M D1 BSB tires from Discount Tire. They are inflated to 65 psi and are much better than the stock tires.

Hey All.

Just signed up and have a question on durability. Looking at purchasing a new R Pod (undecided on model).

My job has me travelling 3-4 times a month. Distances range from 300 - 1K miles each way for each trip, depending. My usual method for trips longer than a day is to allow one day for driving, 1-2 days working, one day for the return trip. Figure 3K miles or so per month dragging the trailer.
Once or twice per year I would use it for 4-5K miles over a week to 10 days for vacations.
Currently I stay in hotels but would really like to have "my space" configured just how I like it, available any time, any where.

How would the R Pod stand up to mileage such as that? What, other than tires and possibly wheel bearings, would need attention for such miles? Or is the R Pod a 30K mile/year trailer with little to no fuss?

Thanks for any insight you guys and gals might have on this topic.
