My truck is the 2.8 liter 4 cylinder Duramax diesel. I always pull with my fresh water tank completely full and get about 25 mpg while towing. You can't even feel the trailer back there. This is the Z71 package with 4 wheel drive. I rarely use the 4 wheel drive however.

We have only had the Rpod a few weeks, but we towed it from Ohio to North Carolina and it handled the hills well. Fuel mileage with the diesel is a major plus...both with and without the trailer.

I towed with a 2016 Colorado Z71, non-four wheel drive with the 3.6 liter. It has the 7000 lb towing capacity, 305 HP. I towed my 178 for over a year. No WDH only the friction sway bar. No issues. I do use the Tow option and the transmission does not try to move to and from O/D. Very capable tow vehicle, that has no issues pulling the Pod. It has the Hydro 6 speed in it - no issues to date. Very satisfied, it has all the capabilities my 2006 4X4 V8 Silverado has, plus an increase in horsepower. When I bought mine the diesel was not yet available. However happy with the purchase and performance.
