The Janome sewing machine we have for travel draws .6A, so that means it 72 Watts. This is a simple machine. My wife's much larger Pfaff sewing machine draws .9A, or 108 Watts. I really don't think it would cause a problem to take along a sewing machine.

You will probably be just fine. It is possible to exceed the 30 amp limit - if one was to have on the A/C, water heater - on electric, and microwave at the same time (along with some other smaller loads - like the battery charger/converter). In theory, the circuit breaker on the Pod or campground pedestal would trip.

Personally, I try to have on no more than two of the bigger loads (above) at a given time (just one is better). Again, when added with some smaller loads (television, crock pot, whatever), the demand is getting "up there".

It would be helpful to know how much power the sewing machine requires. That information is usually placed on the back or bottom of devices and displays the voltage, along with the amps and/or watts. In addition to the total amps available (30), the individual circuit will likely be limited to 15 amps. I doubt the sewing machine (alone) would need this much. However, if there are other things in use on that same circuit (crock pot, coffee maker, etc.), it may trip on overload.

My wife insisted that ouR escaPOD have a place to store a sewing machine as well as a bathroom when I told her I wanted to get one. We have a compact sewing machine that fits nicely in a little cubbyhole I made next to the wardrobe in the 179. Sure, I don't see any reason why you could not use a sewing machine. This is a total Newbie question as I've never camped in a campground in anything but a tent. 

I know one of the things that can happen when on a vacation is rain that pretty much keeps you inside.  I'm wondering if it is feasible to use a sewing machine or similar appliance when using campground electricity.  In my imagination, if I were on a longer trip and stuck inside, it is something I would want to do. 

Anyone thoughts or guesses?
