We are anxious to get our Pod out for a shake-down soon also. We went to Walmart today for some essentials. I won't pick our 179 for a week or so. I'm having them install two 6 volt deep cycle golf cart batts. I figured I better have them do it now or I will most likely procrastinate...lol
I'm still thinking about a slide topper but I will wait for a while..

Good luck with yours.

Steve

We've got reservations in Yosemite in April and I'm hoping we can get at least one local shake-down trip in before then. In the past week I've gotten a lot of help from subscribers on this site. Hope you find it helpful also.

Most of what you NEED can be purchased at Walmart, if you choose.

1. Dump hose
2. Black tank chemical (I use the liquid "orange" type)
3. A WHITE fresh water hose (for potable water)
4. Wheel chocks

Use the WHITE potable water hose ONLY for hook up to city water and/or filling the fresh water tank. Use a "regular" garden hose for black tank flushing, etc.

As mentioned, you'll kind of figure out what you need and want, as you go. A good "test" is to camp in your driveway or yard for a night or two. One thing that I recommend is a small first aid kit...it comes in handy.
