Stan - Welcome to the group and congrats on the new 179.

Junebug - we tow with a 2012 Rav 4 Sport with a V6 and factory tow package. If you're going to go with the Rav you will find that you are right up at the limit so weight will always be a concern. You will also require a WD & AS hitch such as the Fasway E2. The vehicle has a short wheelbase and a smallish gas tank so you're always planning you're next gas stop. Power wise the vehicle does just fine and has no problem cruising along at 100 kph (60 mph)

We bought the pod last summer and the Rav is what we had and still do but we're considering what our next vehicle will be.

I don't know what a reasonable price might be in IA. The manual in the Rav 4 will tell you if it is possible. Expect poor gas mileage. My Hemi Dodge will get 20 without the pod and 12 or 13 with it. But then we live in the mtns. I will retire from teaching in June 2017. Looking for an Rpod 179 (2016). I am also new to this forum and learning my way around. Here are a couple of questions I have about camping with a trailer.

1. Is this a good time of year to find one at a reasonable price? Where do you suggest?

2. Can I haul an Rpod with a Toyota Rav 4? What might gas mileage be?

I'll start there and appreciate any help from my new friends out there!
