I the past, the problem I had with winter and a trailer, is the freezing of the low point drains. I may be wrong, but I think these are the first to go (split). They are easy to insulate. For extended cold, perhaps there's some heater tape that can be applied?

I like winter camping, especially in the Mojave desert where temperatures vary greatly between day and night. When temperatures drop slightly below freezing for a couple of hours in the morning, I've just used insulation (dry camping).

I noticed the Rpod has a channel along one side of the Rpod. Wish it had a channel like that all the way around. Then a skirt with a heat source under the trailer would help avoid freezing in longer term cold.

Not sure about this product, just thinking about the idea:

Just as info - I have spent numerous nights below freezing with electricand with a ceramic heater. I have 2 Broan heaters (cubes),  1500 watts model 6201A.  One will do it in my 178, maintaining temp at 70.  Two will cause issues with GCI, learned by experience.  Very small heater, no sleeping bag required, good blanket recommended. I'll be curious to know how it goes.   I imagine sleeping in a sleep bag instead of using regular sheets and blankets would make a different, but you can't exactly spend your whole time in a sleeping bag.  ;)

Over in the FB group, there is a family going into their second winter in a 176T, full timing, at 8000 ft in the Rockies while they build their house..Run your heater, if you have hookups, use a small ceramic heater, and crack the FF vent an inch to fight moisture.. The pod will stay more then comfortable. While we don't have a T model, we HAVE been down into the teens with no more heat needed then our little 1000watt cube.

I'm camping in southern NM over Christmas. I expect temps to get below freezing at night and I'm in a 176T. I have done a lot of tent camping in the winter....but wondering what this group thinks is the most important thing to do if anything in low 30 degree temps. Anyone try to insulate the 176T tent?
