I went ahead and modified the AC cover. Mine is now white. I sanded the cover with 220 grit sandpaper first to make sure the paint would adhere better. I chose Valspar Plastic Paint, Gloss White. It looks great. When I still rode motorcycle, I knew a guy that had sky high handlebars, affectionately known as ape hangers. Just the type of spray paint that works on plastic. Brilliantly simple mod that could benefit many of us. Go to a mall someday on a blazing hot day and touch the surface of a black or dark blue vehicle and then touch a white or silver one. That will drive the point home.
