However, it is more than that. On some threads with multiple pages, I am taken to page one or to a page two or three pages before the location of the new post(s). Since I try to keep both desktop and netbook current on posts, they should both be able to get to the new post(s). It isn't a huge problem though. I just was wondering about it.

    Author: StephenH
Subject: 8927
Posted: 22 Oct 2016 at 11:49am

While I am at it, there is another thing I have noticed. The names and the emoticon do not always match. For example, this one is labeled "Dead": In other forums, this might be called "Sick." This one is labeled "Clap": . This one is labeled "Star": . This one is labeled "Clown": . It looks like a wizard to me. This one is labeled "Stern Smile": while this one is labeled "Pig": . There are several others, but this should suffice to show that the names and icons are mismatched for a number of the emoticons. Some of the spaces have a name, but no emoticon in the listing: "Sick", "Party", "Beer", and "Handshake". It would be nice if an administrator looked into this also.
Due to the clouds and haze, the pilot could not determine the helicopter's position and course to fly to the airport. The pilot saw a tall building, flew toward it, circled, drew a handwritten sign, and held it in the helicopter's window. The pilot's sign said "WHERE AM I?" in large letters. People in the tall building quickly responded to the aircraft, drew a large sign and held it in a building window. Their sign read: "YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER." The pilot smiled, waved, looked at her map, determined the course to steer to SEATAC airport, and landed safely. After they were on the ground, the co-pilot asked the pilot how the "YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER" sign helped determine their position. The pilot responded "I knew that had to be the Microsoft building because, like their technical support, online help and product documentation, the response they gave me was technically correct, but completely useless."

What is different about the message threads where this happens and the message threads where the expected action of going to the new posts happens? Is it a quirk in the forum software? Is it a cookie problem? Is there a fix for this misbehavior?
