Cost of and storage space for additional sizes of packaging trays if the store were to package in small quantities.
2. Additional time needed to package, wrap, weigh, and make labels for small packages. This would be added in to the price so something that might cost $1.19 in the larger package might be $1.49 in the smaller package (numbers are example, not actual).

If you are preparing for a trip, there is nothing to say that you can't do the repackaging yourself from a larger package and freeze the rest for later use. Purchases on the road do present a problem though. Stores package for what they sell most frequently. Small quantities are not as popular as family packs.
As usual with all cookbooks, some of the recipes are crazy, but some are really worthwhile, such as a stove top lasagna and a section on using left overs. You might consider it if you are unhappy with your present cookbooks.
