Nice breathing space around that site! They also have some great restaurants in the area the best one so far we found was Ralph's BBQ buffet!
It has amazing ribs!!

If in the area of Roanoke Rapids,NC and you are looking for a nice place to stay, I recommend the RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads it is really nice, clean and very reasonably priced. It has a really nice pool/hot tub and very accomodating and friendly staff.
No fishing though.
