Sometimes, we just want a fire for an hour or so before hitting the sack and the propane fire pit makes it easy.]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=217" rel="nofollow">techntrek</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 865<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 18 Nov 2009 at 11:46am<br /><br />Some jurisdictions have banned the movement of wood from outside of the area, due to various pests causing widespread damage.&nbsp; By eliminating the movement of wood, the spread of the pests are (hopefully) slowed down.&nbsp; Some times this means no fire, if you can't get local wood.&nbsp; Also there are times that you can not have a wood fire due to burn bans, usually during severe droughts.&nbsp; There are times that we get back to camp too late to get a good fire going, or its raining and we are stuck under the EZ-Up or the 'pods canopy. <div>&nbsp;</div><div>Our solution: the Camp Chef camp fire ring.&nbsp; Ours is a few years older than this and sits on top of a Camp Chef high-output burner, and doesn't have the lava rock (just ceramic "logs").&nbsp; The newer one seems to be nicer - as long as you don't need the burner to cook on.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div></div><div>Edited 9/13/13, fixed broken link &nbsp;<a href="http://www.campchef.com/fire-pits/propane.html" target="_blank">http://www.campchef.com/fire-pits/propane.html</a></div><div>&nbsp;</div>]]>
