OK- I thought by "external" you were referring to external to the DVD/CD/TV/ unit, which is really all I'm interested in. I just want better speakers than what is attached to the unit and hopefully what I bought yesterday will work- I plan to mount them on both sides of the "entertainment center". Uh oh...I just today bought a pair of cheap ($35) speakers at Best Buy that I thought I was going to attach to the tin can sounding CD/DVD player. Does this mean there is really no output? Would like to see all models have outside speakers wired or wireless to the DVD player.
 
Has anyone added any speakers themselves?
