Author: JayTizzoe
Subject: 8575
Posted: 12 Aug 2016 at 7:34pm

My wife and I are officially done with TENT CAMPING forever! We picked up our 2017 RPOD 179 yesterday and I have a few questions for the seasons RPOD owners.

1. I have had bad luck with the 3M strips that are supposed to come off the walls when I want them to with no damage to the walls...does anybody else have any suggestions on what to use to attach things to the walls in the RPODS?

2. Air Conditioner: When my RPOD is at home I have the power going to my 110 garage outlet with the converter plug that comes with the RPOD, when I have AC connected, is it safe to use the AC using 110 from my garage or do I have to have a 30amp service installed in my garage?

3. RPOD outside protection: The RV dealer tried to sell me a Teflon wax for lotsa money to have applied to the outside of my RPOD to protect the finish. What do you seasoned RPODDERS use to keep your outside from fading and becoming oxidized and stickers peeling off? Is there a certain soap you use to clean your RPOD with?

4. Replacement queen size mattresses for the RPOD: I am a bigger guy and need a little more support. The factory mattress isnt that comfortable. What is a good quality mattress we can replace the original with?

5. Refridgerator: While traveling to our camping destination, should we use the propane or battery power to keep it cold?

6. Pets: We have one dog(Boxer), she has oily skin. I have the lighter colored cushions in the dinette area, what tips/advice have RPODDERS with pets have about keeping those cushions clean?

We are very excited about our first trip next week to Michigans Upper Penninsula (Van Riper State Park). We will have about an 8 hour drive up there. My TV is a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica Touring Edition (4.0 Liter V-6)...does anybody know how these these cars perform pulling the RPODS?

We really appreciate any/all advice-tips-tricks, so please let us know.

Have a great summmer all!

John and Kari
