 It's an older camper with few amenities. So not expensive. Please note it is also as wide as a pod.

OP, I've been looking around myself, and the Jay Feather 7's 18RBM, 19BH and 20RL would fit your needs as far as dimensions and weights go. I think they have vinyl floor coverings also. For less than 7', there's ProLite. http://www.roulottesprolite.com/indexenglish.htm. They are pretty light and from my experience, have a pretty good build quality.

Up until very recently I had a ProLite Profil. I can answer your questions probably better than their own salesmans/womans...

Thanks everyone,

I may have to change a few of my 'needs' to 'nice to haves' as I'm really keen on the Rpods

I really wanted to avoid having to pay for storage for the trailer, it's about $130+ in mu neck of the woods :(

Your seven foot width and no slide limit your options. The Camplite 16BHB or 13BHB would work if you can find a used one. They are no longer manufactured. However they both have wet baths. If you can live with a couch and portable table for your sitting area the current 14DB would work and it has a dry bath.

The RPODs have 7 foot wide bodies, but the fenders are eight feet wide. Might still work beside your house depending on its construction.

The R-Pod 182G has no carpeting, is less than 7 ft. wide.  Only one small slide out, less than a foot out. Table up front, two bunks in the back, weighs less than 3000#.  It also has a "garage" kitchen and extra storage in the back. Well.. lots of campers fit that mold. If you want an R-Pod, 171, and 172 fit the bill, one with bunks, one with a permanent bed.  With 2, +70lb dogs.. (what we have), the slide makes a huge difference in floor space for them to occupy. If I was dead set on no slide for extra room, I would step away from the pods, and look at a trailer with inboard wheels for extra interior width, and room overall. There are a few brands with longer, no slide trailers, but not many. At 6000lb GVWR, that makes it a little easier to find. But most longer ones are 96" wide, not 84".

So, I'm compiling this list with the hope that it'll keep me on the straight and narrow :)

For context, I'll be travelling with either two 70lb dogs or one girlfriend (never both - don't ask)
I live in Miami so won't be travelling more than a couple of hours.

In no particular order (yet)

  • Width should be 7ft or less (to fit next to the house)
  • Less than 6000lbs
  • Needs either bunks or a fixed bed (hate putting beds up and down)
  • Should have a table to sit around on rainy days
  • None carpet flooring (I want to take along my woofers)
  • No slide out's or tenty add-ons (I'll probably break them)

Any ideas/suggestions or other things to consider?
