Maybe, maybe not.  My previous tow vehicle, a 2004 Dodge Durango, did not have the tow package, but had a trans. cooler.  I would not be surprised if Chrysler put a trans. cooler on all hemi engine-equipped Grand Cherokees (of course, I also thought they all came with the tow package, so what do I know?).

Before spending the money on one, do a little investigating first.  Search the Jeep forums, or just crawl under yours and follow the lines that come from the radiators.  One will be engine cooling, another for the A/C.  If there's a third small radiator with lines that go to the tranny, you're good to go.  Then all you'll need to do is install a hitch and wiring, as well as a brake controller.

Believe it or not no receiver hitch.  I can't imagine i would need much to upgrade to tow.

Hi, Bob.  Welcome!  Your Grand Cherokee has the towing package if it has a factory receiver hitch.  I'm guessing it does, since it has the Hemi.  I'm not sure they make GCs with Hemis that don't come with the towing package, but I may be wrong.

Assuming it has the tow package, you're Grand Cherokee is more than adequate for towing the R-pod.  You'll need to purchase and install a trailer brake control, however.  My Grand Cherokee is the previous generation, but with mine, I had to wire the brake controller, even though it has the factory tow package.  I bit of a pain, but do-able if you're at all handy.  Hopefully Chrysler got smart by 2012 and yours is "plug and play" for a brake control.

Hi folks,  I joined a while back to gather information on the Rpod.  I still haven't purchased anything.  I am now retired but the wife has a few months to go.  I have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a hemi.  I don't know if it  has the towing package since I purchased it uses.

I like the 180.  I would appreciate any comments if this would be a good mate to the tow vehicle.  I could go with something a bit smaller but I like the full size bathroom.

I have also looked at the 16' Scamp but like the extra room.  If there is anyone out there who has had both I would appreciate comments. The Scamps really hold value but I think the Rpods look like a good alternative.
