Even WD-40 can work or something like Goo-Gone (Orange oil based) cleaner. A good polish like Turtle Wax Ice can help protect it after it is cleaned.

The previous owner apparently had it parked under a poplar tree and the leaf pods that drop in the spring were stuck all over the roof. I washed off the remnant pods, but they leave a sticky residue behind that has hardened and turned black. Does anyone know of a cleaner that will emulsify that residue so I can clean it off?

Thanks
