Oops!? You call that an oops! That's nothing like the Ooops I just did!!...

When the 16 year old parking lot attendant in Ottawa, Canada directs you to underground parking, try to remember you are carrying two kayaks on your roof!! No, we we did not have the pod, but totally forgot we had the kayaks and the kid didn't notice. What a mess!

Now that was an Oops!

I'm curious, was there an exposed piece of the fiberglass you were aware of that the wind caught or did this come as a complete surprise. If there wasn't something that was easy for the wind to catch, it most have been extreme winds.

My concerns is with a solar panel I've mounted to the top of my Pod using Velcro. The manufacturer suggests Velcro as a suitable attachment device. They probably don't consider traveling on a highway at 60mph, but most likely do anticipate the effects of winds on a static mount. I'm hoping to leave the panel mounted to the top when travelling. I'm fairly confident that this will work, but concerned with the panel catching a bit of wind and ripping off. Your situation makes me consider additional fail safe devices.

I took the Pod in to a local RV repair shop and we are working with my insurance company. All are made this way.  I've seen plenty of delamination over the years but never a piece of it ripped off like this.

I didn't know that the R-Pod could delaminate like that. I noticed plywood. Are the new R-Pods constructed differently? I thought they were laminated directly to the aluminum frame and foam insulation on the two sides.

So my wife and I had a wonderful trip to Glendo Reservoir, Devils Tower and Chadron, Nebraska this last week, however we had a little incident with a gust of wind on the highway between Douglas and Gillette, Wyoming. It seems the wind caught an area of delamination of the fiberglass skin just in front of the door on our 2010 172.
