We had a Honda Odyssey with towing package and towed just fine with it. We had the WDH and friction anti-sway. There were definltely a few hills we went very slowly up. We were definitely on the edge of the limits. Last year we decided to trade in on a Toyota Tundra that tows like the RPOD isn't even there.

If memory serves, the Honda is rated at 248 horsepower. You'll likely get where you are going but, probably won't win many drag races. As mentioned, a WD hitch may prove beneficial along with driving in a lower gear. And if you don't already have a transmission cooler installed, consider doing so. You did not say whether or not it had a factory towing package. The most you can do is get a weight distributing hitch system to smooth out the tow. I don't think there's anything you can do about the vans power. It won't get any more powerful than it is. Leave the transmission in one gear lower than OD. If it has a 6 speed, leave it in 5th. If it's a 5 speed, leave it in 4th, etc. It will run in the higher rpm range but will stay in the power band better.
