Good idea.  We put up our Rdome three times, watched the installation a few times.  The suction cups on the Rdome do not work well.  What does the Rdome cost?  Better be camping a while otherwise don't put it up.  Helps with bugs.

 We have added an awning to our Pod. We used a 16 ft. Sun Shade Sail Canopy that we bought from Amazon, about $27.00. We took some canvas and wrapped poly tubing and then sewed it to the edge of the sail. We used one post in the front with ropes to tent pegs in the ground.

The sail is a triangle so the one side with the rope goes through the channel on the camper. We will make some additional modifications to get it to stretch a little tighter. Rain does go through the awning so it will not puddle on top but does provide a ton of shade. The door does drag on it when opened.
