Ray,
We just picked up our 180 two days age.  We were suppose to get a 2016 but the factory changed over to 17 sooner than usual.  No major difference.   The shower curtain now has a rail on top and on bottom where the hooks slide.  I consider that an improvement.  We had a cover installed over our fantastic fan.. I would recommend that.   Other than that,  i see no real difference.  We are soending a week or two outfitting our trailer, then we are off.

Congratulations.  Today, we were just looking at a 2016 RP-180 and think we're going to move forward.  The only thing that concerns me is that the dealer showed us a 2016 model and sad we'd bet getting a 2017 model.  I'm unsure of the differences, if any.

Well...Tomorrow is pick up day.  I am excited, so is my lovely wife Karen. We've done this travel trailer thing before and our biggest concern is for Bessie the basset. Hates to ride in a car. Wimpers the whole time.   Four years ago with our Casita, we had to sedate her everytime we left.  I am hoping....no, praying, that age has mellowed her a bit. Nothing like a hound dog howlin for eight hours straight.  
I am telling her tomorrow... Howl or don't...but you are going.

The decision for us was:  wet bath versus dry bath.  Our last tt was a Casita, with a wet bath.  It was ok, but in the end neither of us wanted a wet gath ever again.  Just did not like mopping and drying out the entire bathroom after every shower.

The 179 is the same way. The Explorer did fine, we got 10-11 miles per gallon.  I am thinking about getting a wind deflector to improve mileage.   We bought a memory foam topper for the mattress, it is very comfortable. My wife does the driving so we put a weight distribution and anti-sway hitch on. It pulled very well no sway at all, even in high cross wind. We also had a rear wireless camera installed so it is easy to see when you are clear when passing.

We have had our 180 for three weeks now.  Just completed a seven day 1,500 mile trip from Georgetown TX to Memphis then to Bull Shoals Lake and back.  The Pod was great, we had temp down to 33 degrees in the Ozarks.

We are very happy with it, good luck on your purchase
