Thanks for the welcome and the quick feedback on the sway bars. We live at 6200' in the Rockies and will be camping mostly in the West, hence a lot of mountain driving. I've done a lot of research and discovered and decided that our 2009 Tacoma 4x4 Access Cab with TRD Off-Road towing package can handle the 2650 lb RP-179. I'm hoping as I keep tabs on all you other podders out there that I'll get more real-life experienced feedback and suggestions from you on this. We just made our first trip this last weekend with our new 2016/179 and the Fastway E2 WDH pulled by our 14/F150. I won't tow without one ever again. We towed up down the Columbia River Gorge in a massive headwind with rain. The WDH was great. The truck and the Pod both move around but the moved together not swaying independently. Welcome iresqU from a fellow Colorado podder! We only have an Explorer (I believe ours is a shorter wheelbase than yours, but our 177 is a bit smaller than your 179 as well.  We only have a anti-sway bar on ours, never have had any issues even with very strong (30 mph +) cross winds while traveling through the mid-west.  Probably comes down to your personal comfort level but am sure that many others will chime in that have your very popular 179.  Congratulations on your new rig and be ready to show it off to curious campers as you go from campground to campground.  We have had our 177 for over 5 years now and usually wherever we go will give a "tour" to at least 1 curious party/ campground.

Just put a deposit on a new 2017 RP-179 to arrive last week of April. Pretty darn excited!! First travel trailer, although I've towed utility trailers all my life.  We've had a 1999 VW Eurovan Winnebago poptop camper for 10 years and ready to move in to a little more space and comfort. Not dealing with maintenance on another engine is also a plus.  Gonna miss Old Vincent VanGo but looking forward to not playing the origami-fold-everything-up game every time we wanna take a sidetrip. Will be towing with 2009 Tacoma, with a 6500 lb towing package, Tekonsha Prodigy P2 brake controller. One question for all you experienced R-podders:  would a weight distributing stabilizer worth the investment? Glad to do it on recommendation, but it adds 100 lbs of steel.  Thanks for your help.
