My wife and I drove down to Southern California last weekend to see our niece. We headed to the town of Buellton to stay at Flying Flags RV Park which is about 4 miles from Solvang. Solvang is a tourist town resembling a Danish colony. Flying Flags is the only place close to Solvang I could find. We got a very nice pull thru site with full hook ups for $54 a night. The next day we headed for the coast about 20 miles away. We drove south on Highway 101 to Point Mugu State Park to camp at Sycamore Canyon Campground, they have fresh water at the dump station and spigots around the camp ground. They assign you a space when you get there. We spent 2 nights, $45 a night. You can also camp right on the road next to beach at Thornhill Broome State Beach for $35 a night, they class it as a primitive site. On Sunday we drove north to The San Luis Reservoir to camp at San Luis Creek Campground. This turned out to be a great campground, they had electrical and water hook ups so they charge $40 per night. It’s about a 2 hour drive from there to home. We had great weather while in Southern California. That’s what’s nice about California and being to take your trailer out year round.
