It is amazing, the beaches are great, the sunrises and sunsets are second to none. We also spend a lot of time in the Wildlife areas. We go to the Cape Hatteras KOA in Rodanthe. It is really great! Park near tnhe back line against the dunes, walk over the board walk and fish to our hearts content. Catch all kinds of Blue fish, red drum, black drum , flounder, whiting,sheeps head, skate, sting rays and assorted sharks.
Been averaging 150-200 fish during the month of October. This will be our fifth year going down.

I have spent a lot of time up in your neck of the woods my brother and I built a place in South Ryegate many years ago. We sold when he moved to California and I regret not buying it myself. Ron it's a blast!! It gets interesting when you drive out on the ice!! ( vehicle and snow machines)
We have tracked bears up here .....that too is a blast!! ( I bet they are a bit smaller thatn out at Yellowstone though!!)

I have never understood fishing and I am totally baffled by ICE FISHING but then I use to go to Yellowstone every year and track bears. Been out doing some ice fishing...................................have come to the conclusion that sitting in the sun on Cape Hatteras surf fishing beats these -5 degree ( -15 with wind chill ) days.
Getting ready to make reservations for this fall, with a stop at Assateague Island for some fishing first.
