I have a 177 . The mattress is not very long, you should absolutely lie in it before buying!!

The furnace is VERY loud, cycles too often, and kills the battery. I highly recommend a small propane space heater if you don't camp using electrical hookup, and you can buy an electric ceramic heater for hookup camping, very quiet.

I use a propane Mr Buddy heater, and it is very quiet, and plenty of heat. On low, the one pound bottle lasts about 5 hours. In very cold weather (below 40), I have blankets, wool socks, a sweater, and 1 inch of foil foam board under the mattress for insulation. Using the portable heater means I save my batteries, and have a quiet nights sleep.

I am 6', she is 5'6", we have two dogs around 65-70 pounds each now.. we can make it work.. LOL.

We normally just use a small ceramic electric heater, unless boondocking, which we don't do much in late season/winter.

We love our 177 - i am 5 foot 10 and sleep just fine in the bed - the heater is loud- I can't sleep with it on - so we crank it up before bed and hope for the best - winter sleeping bags for the shoulder season are our friend. We bring a little electric space heater as well - if we have shore power we will always opt for that because it is quiet. I am sure your rig will pull it wonderfully.

I would look it over good, making sure all appliances work on all modes.

If you're 6' your options are to sleep on your side curled, on your back with your knees bent, or diagonally. Part of the trade off in making the R-Pod lighter was to make it narrower and that resulted in a short bed.
The furnace. Not a good idea to have too much under the bed. You want a clear flow of air out and you don't want anything to get too hot. We keep things there, but back and behind the outflow vent. And yes, it's noisy. We don't use ours when we're sleeping, but we've never winter camped. It might get into the 30's at night, so we get the pod warm, dive into bed, and fire it back up in the morning.

Your Yukon probably won't notice the pod behind it. My 6 cyl Silverado definitely does.

177 has been a great floor plan for me, wife, and dog. Wish it had more storage though (179?)

Looking at the 177 and am wondering about the length of the bed. I am 6'. Also I notice the furnace is under the bed. I assume you cannot put anything under bed near furnace? How noisy is it when it comes on and runs. I'm a light sleeper.
