Definitely a fishing fanatic!!! 
We did really well towing also, averaged 14.5 for the first half of the trip and 15.5 once we got further south.
On the way home it was great we have a really good tail wind pushing us so for the first part of the return trip we were getting 16.5 mpg and then back to the 15.5 mpg and ended up in Vermont at 14 mpg.

Sounds like a great month of fishing. Oh yeah gotta love New England seafood. While stationed in Quincy, I used to get a Chinese dish that had shrimp, scrambled eggs and rice, I can't remember what it was called but My wife and I had that dish for dinner at least once a week. We used to go to the market and choose what fish we wanted and they would bread it, fry it, and give it to you in a brown paper bag to take home. Sure was nice not having to cook it at home. I would imaging you can do the same on the Texas coast I just haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

Got back yesterday from another great trip to Cape Hatteras,NC. We ended up catching 123 fish in the month we were down there. 3 red drum, 2 flounder, 90 blue fish and the rest puffer fish, whiting and pompano.
While down there we went to one of the wildlife refuges and saw black bears, river otters, rattle snake,cotton mouth and all kinds of other wild life. Had great seafood and met a lot of nice people!

Added 7 more blues and a couple more whiting today.Guy next to me caught a 3 1/2 foot thresher shark, quite a set of teeth they have!
They guy on the other side caught a small red drum, one of the bait shops said that the charter boats ar starting to see big schools of red drum coming down the coast!

Caught 18 blue fish today and lost a huge red drum. Took a ride out to the Alligator River Wildlife refuge and saw a mother bear and her two cubs!!

Catch the red drum is a blast they really put up a fight. Caught four of them last year down here, heard they caught two a the pier yesterday so they are back in the area. Will be out trying again first thing in the am.

Wow!!! I have fished for many years and have never caught a red drum. I hear they are a fierce fighting fish. I do plan to get down on the coast for a guided trip one of these days.

I see you are in VT, I bet the foliage is beginning to turn colors now. I can remember driving up Interstate 95 from Boston to check out the scenery. Your fishing report sounds great. Sure does bring back memories. I was stationed in Boston in the eighties and fished on the beaches of Quincy many times. It sure was fun when the Blues ran.
