FR puts mud and snow tires on the Hood River models from the factory. That is what I was referring to. I see no reason other than looks.

At least LTs have stiffer sidewalls than Ps, I upgraded from P to LT on my minivan when I had it, for that reason. But they still aren't as stiff as STs. Most are rated over 2000lbs load, and we have not seen near the failures of those, vs the 205 75 14 ST's reported over on FB..

We had a rash of '09's through '11's with catastrophic failures this spring into early summer. It was bad enough that I changed ours, even though I figured they should have another year in them. I like my polished fenders.. LOL

I don't know about the tires on an R-Pod yet but most of us who have big (12,000 to 16,000 lb) fifth wheels have gone away from trailer tires and now use Goodyear G614 LTs. It is hard to find ST's that are made in the USA. They were a light truck tire I checked and I only replace them because the ones that were on it were made in Taiwan and I didn't want to blow out when I had a long trip coming up Cool

Look on the left side of the trailer and you will see a label that says TIRE AND LOASDING INFORMATION and below that one is the DOT label, they list the GAWR, the Tire size and type, Rims size and inflation pressure. On my 2012 177 the tire listed is an LT235/75R15. I know that they look Bad A$$ (we established that on post some time ago) but I cant see any reason to have grippers on a trailer.

He has an HRE.. they come with LT tires.

+1. And they have lower rolling resistance. It sounds like Jpntime put light truck tires on. Never put passenger (P) or light truck (LT) tires on a trailer. While in Florida last winter I replaced the factory tires with Freestar tires on my 178. I only had about 10K miles on originals, but they were wearing unevenly pretty badly. Be sure to have the new wheels/tires balanced. The originals were way out of balance. I only have a couple of thousand miles or so on the Freestars.
