I hope to be shaking it out on a 4-night trip to central West Virginia for the "Almost Heaven Star Party."  This is coming up in just over a week.  Then I'll be heading to a 9-night event in the Oklahoma Panhandle in mid-September (called the Okie-Tex Star Party).  Both of these outings will be without hookups (although there are showers, bathrooms, and power for telescope gear) so I am hoping to hit the ground running with dry camping.  

Stats:

My tow vehicle is a 2011 GMC Sierra, 1/2 ton, 4wd, extended cab, long bed.

Dealer is a small dealer with the personal touch... Kerola's Campers in Hermitage, Pa.

First mod is already completed; I swapped out the standard 12v battery for 2 Trojan T-105 6V golf cart batteries (225 AH rating).

I have learned a lot from this group in the last month of lurking, and really appreciate the collective wisdom and experience here.  I hope that in turn, I will be able to help somebody else out, soon.
