Welcome to the group!!

I just moved this post to its own thread, where it will be seen by more people.  Welcome.

If the manufacturer says you can tow 6200 pounds that must be right (I did a quick check online and saw the same number for the V6).  However, as a rule you should stay below that by a comfortable amount.  My TV can pull 7900 and I'm pulling about 6800 which is a bit more than I would like.  I would never go close to the max.

You also need to find your max hitch weight.

We are very close to purchasing a 2016 R-Pod 179.  The salesperson says my vehicle will have no trouble towing it.  My question to you owners is, will my 2014 Jeep Overland 4x4 with the standard 6 cylinder engine and 8 speed auto trans have trouble towing this trailer?  I have the tow package on the Jeep. My feeling is, once loaded I'm going to be pushing it.  The Mfg says my towing capacity is 6200 pounds.  I find this hard to believe.  
What do all you owners think?
