But if I was buying a new one now I'd look at the 179 too. It's longer and has better storage. Looked at one at a campsite next to ours.]]>

Some of those pipes are pretty low and speed bumps, pot holes and bad angles driveways and parking lots could do a lot of damage.]]>

It's a little bigger and heavier and newer.. <br><br>While the one you are looking at already has risers, risers can be added to your current 171, no problem. It's 4 bolts. <br><br>Now.. I wouldn't for a moment take a Pod anywhere "gnarly".. it's just not made for that, risers or not..<br>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=3831" rel="nofollow">GlibGuy</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 6331<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 30 May 2015 at 6:59am<br /><br />I've only made one camping trip in my 2010 171 but I'm considering a trade for a 2015 178. &nbsp;The reason(s) are: 1) the 178 has the raised axle for additional ground clearance (and I'm going to be in some "gnarly" places occassionally), and 2) my dealer is offering a fair trade.<div><br></div><div>I wonder if any Pod owners would care to comment about the pluses and minuses? &nbsp;I'm aware that the 178 is slightly longer, has the slide-out and weighs about 300 lbs more than the 171. &nbsp;I'm towing with a Silverado so that shouldn't be an issue.</div><div><br></div><div>I would appreciate any input.</div>]]>
