We used standard mirror clips for the plexiglass. We used short screws(3/4") with a small dab of glue on the threads before we screwed them into place. they have held fine for 3 years and over 20,000 miles.

Can't help you with the exhaust fan . However, we did mount a small(8") electric fan that will help ventilate the area. We always have to remove the smoke detector battery while cooking.

Here is a page with a lot of our modifications-you can see the fan and backsplash. Click on a picture and there will be a description.

https://plus.google.com/photos/111319885746168705351/albums/5995280008984464529?banner=pwa&authkey=CO6m8a2Up6a3Sw

travel safe
Vann
