We are in the same boat as you. Picked up our 178 late last year & it went directly into storage. Both our batteries are at home on a trickle charge. Awaiting our first trip in May if the weather breaks in the Adirondacks. It is still below zero here. have asked a lot of questions and will be glad to share. Good luck.

Congratulations on the new R-pod!  We bought ours last fall after 20+ years of popups.  As far as battery maintenance, if you were storing it at home, you could leave it plugged in, and the converter would keep them charged.  But I would guess that's not an option when storing it on the dealer's lot.  So you will probably have to take them home with you.  Don't leave them sitting in the battery boxes on the tongue, as they will discharge by themselves.  If they are fully charged, you can maintain them by keeping them hooked up to a trickle charger at home.  If they aren't, then you'll need a battery charger.  Then, simply hook them up every 6 to 8 weeks to keep them charged.  That's what I've been doing for many years with my popup batteries.

Picked up our brand new R-pod 178 from the dealer this Saturday! We are very excited! But now starting to get a little nervous!!! Coming from a pop up that we used for nothing other than sleep in to this is a bit overwhelming. There seems to be a lot to learn.We did have a few questions we thought we could find help with on here. 1st off was battery maintenance, We had a 2nd battery installed at time of purchase as it was highly recommended by the dealer we also had our R-pod re winterized following our walk thru (we live in Montana and who knows when winter will be over but certain it is not over here in March!)  We our planning to store the R-pod most likely back at the dealer because with purchase we received one free year of storage. We plan to use it thw 1st week of May, just wondering what the best way is to care for the batteries during this time. I can gather from the manual (not really an R-pod manual? odd? maybe not.) That the batteries need to be disconnected during storage. Can the wire just be disconnected and then the batteries left in the case's on the tongue? How often do you need to then go charge the batteries? We have the option to store at our house is the easier and then do you just leave the R-pod plugged in all the time? Just want to make sure we get the most out of the batteries we just paid a bunch for! Thank you for all your help in advance!
