To order the new Rdome is $650.00 plus shipping. I guess I will be trying to sell the existing one to someone that has a 2013 or older model. The company "made an improvemt to the dome". Meaning it now is long enough to fit the newer models.

I will be picking up my 179 next week. It has the dome tent. I'm happy to hear it works. I haven't seen it up in person. Does it fit over the door? Can you walk out of the 179 and directly into the dome?

I recently called Forest River about this, and what they told me is that the RDome's currently out there do not work with the RP-179.  They said that they are coming out with a new Rdome which will be exclusively for the 179.  They don't have them yet, they were supposed to be there by now, and they expect them anytime.  They didn't say if they will be distributing them to the dealerships, or if one would have to order it from them directly.

Pacque tent, awnings and covers has a new awning out now for r-pods that looks really neat and easy to put up.  Mine will be arriving in a week.  You can see it on their website, but the spelling I have above is not right.  The new awning cost $499 and looks very workable in that you can leave sides open or close them up.  Similar to a R-dome but a lot easier to put up.

Yuh the MPG varieties were 16' if you can ever find them out there.  I've seen a couple owners with them and they are nice.  

Forest River does the 13' ones for all R-Pods now, it's all they have available.  Fits all Pods now.
