Travel across to Phoenix for two weeks with the grandkids. Then a border to border tour on US 89, one of my Must Do's. Then Banff and Jasper National Parks in Canada. From there, on to Alaska. Four weeks in Alaska, and back down through the Inside Passage, through Seattle and down Highway 1. Back for another two weeks in Phoenix and return to Virginia.

I retire in three weeks and this is something I have been anticipating for many years.

It will be a great exercise for marital patience! :) Four dogs along for the adventure also. Three little guys and my favorite long haired shepherd mix Maggi.

Wish us luck. The outdoor screen room will be the savior of our marriage, I think.

I believe all of the SAT HDTV is in S,-SW Geosynchronous orbit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia so having the dish on a tripod with 100" of cable will allow you to aim it that way, no matter where you are camping (parked). That said, there is no guarantees that obstructions will not hinder your signal, even if it's on top of the POD.

Dang, a 15,000 mile trip, tell more about that...coast to coast?
