Dometic lists an RML8555 with 3-way capability. I wouldn't leave it on 12V long without a charging source. It is different from our 6 cubic ft. and it is larger and three way. It's not a mistake. It has a silver door and a removable freezer and looking at the control panel it has the option of three way. It looks taller than ours so I think it is altogether larger. If I find a model number I will post it. I think this may be the model " RM8555 it is a Dometic single door stainless steel front.

I'm not aware of any 7 cu ft 3-way fridge from Dometic. I have the RM 3762 which is 7 cu ft. It is a revision to their 6 cu ft model with less insulation. It is 120V/gas but requires 12V for control. Providing adequate cooling power would require a huge current draw at 12V.
Check the Dometic catalog. I think you'll find anything over about 4 cu ft will be 2-way only. You may have encountered another case of dealer BS. But then, why would you want to run a larger fridge on 12V only??

PS: I see Vista advertises a 7 cu ft 3-way fridge. Although I'm not from MO you'll have to show me. Me thinks a "typo", intentional or not. Can't find any such thing in Dometic's catalog.

It was new to me that Dometic made a 7 cu. ft. refrigerator that was 3 way operational. I wish we had a three way refrigerator in our Vibe that is something I miss from when we had our r-pod. If our Dometic 6 cubic ft. stops working I will see if the 7 cubic ft. will fit to replace it. As far as the Vista the fit and finish in construction looked good. I liked the 6 sided aluminum frame that was vacuum bonded and the 7 1/2 ft. width gave plenty of room inside.
