I vote for one 30lb tank.  Changed mine early least year, and I still have about a third tank left after 4 trips with it. In my experience, they always run out in the dark, while raining, with a bear in the park.. lol. I used a auto switchover regulator, so it's seamless to us.

Papabear, 
I am going to replace my 20lb propane tank with an Aluminum 30 lb tank. t will fit into the same place as my 20 lb tank. They are a little expensive bit lighter than a steel tank & they weather better.
I believe it will cost me $180 for the tank & $60 for an internal guage which displays the propane level in the tank.
