D2, welcome!  As MissyBuck mentioned, the Willow Loop is a beautiful spot for sneaking up on Bluebonnets and, if you time it right (during the week!), you have a better chance of avoiding the masses.

Knowing you're interested in connecting with Texas Longorn-types of Podders, you may want to acquire a suitable decal along the lines of the following.  Then, hang out in Austin.  You're sure to make new acquaintances! Big smile

Well, it looks like you might have a good chance...there has been a steady drizzle across the region for the last 3 days that is expected to break tomorrow around noon. If we get a couple more of those before spring, it will be a very good blue bonnet year! Thumbs Up

Pod Rally sounds good,will watch for futher info.
Yes, Sebastian is a good Pod perch, check out Sebastian State Park and Longpoint campground both are fantastic beach and fishing spots, right on The Indian River Lagoon.

D2 - I would also recommend Willow City Loop. You can google that for a specific location and how to get there. It's in the Texas Hillcountry. Hospitality? LOL...this is TEXAS! It doesn't get any friendlier. Big smile  Park Road 4 off of Hwy 281 to Inks Lake State Park (breath taking), however, the Bluebonnets are dependent on Mother Nature. Good luck! Maybe you can make it out our way for the 1st Annual BIG TEXAS RPOD RALLY!
