When we bought our r-pod in 2009 we traveled from Fort Myers to Hamilton. But back then I don't think there were any other dealers in Florida. And besides I was born in Hamilton and the opportunity to visit relatives. Today there are many more dealers to compete with Couch's RV prices. As far as warranty I would recommend Camping World that is where we had our warranty work done the same with our current camper a Forest River Vibe. Congrats on your new 178! We have had a blast with ours.

At the end of our first year, we did purchase the Protective XtraRide platinum plan.

I usually don't buy extended warranties, but this seemed like a reasonable purchase and is easily transferrable.

If you're buying from Couch's, are they delivering it or are you driving up to Ohio to pick it up? If the latter, I'd sure suggest spending your first night as owner overnighting in their lot.  They have water & electricity.  That way, you can operate everything to be sure there are no problems.  If you find anything, you'll have their techs right there the next morning.

All in all, we had a good experience with Couch's.  Hope yours goes well, too.  Welcome to our bunch, & please let us know how everything turns out.

The 2nd year Forest River warranty isn't a horrible option, but don't grab anything extra offered from the dealer.

Welcome to the group!! Congrats on your 178!
