The shower curtain and pads worked great. I didn't crank down the rods so there was a lot of pressure and the shelf held well. The valances don't bear any weight, and are attached with small screws. I took the valances off and set the pads on the top edge of the window frame (not pictured). The set up for the tensioners is like this: 10-32 bolt thru non-skid pad, 10-32 nut tightened down to hold pad at the end of the bolt. End of shelf rails drilled 1/8 pilot 2 1/2" deep, then larger hole to accommodate the bolt diameter. One last drill out to 5/8" depth  to set the 10-32 tee nut in the end of the shelf rail. I also put a second nut on each bolt tightened against the tee nut to prevent the tensioners from turning further into the tee nut.]]>
