    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=598" rel="nofollow">kymooses</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 5551<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 18 Nov 2014 at 9:57am<br /><br /><img src="https://www.rpod-owners.com/smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" alt="LOL" title="LOL" />Our first year, I had a metal sign which I thought I had hung securely on a wall disappear, but really didn't notice it. &nbsp;Until......<div><br></div><div>Put the slide out and heard this awful metal crunching, quickly found the issue.</div><div><br></div><div>Since then we've just become diligent about checking it. &nbsp;It's part of our open/shut process. &nbsp;This includes checking the slide on the outside, because uhm one time I caught the grill rack in the slide as it was pulling in.</div><div><br></div><div>So now, it's power on, water on, check slide for sink hoses or misc items. &nbsp;When we close up to go home, power off, water off, check slide inside and out before retracting.</div><div><br></div><div>DW usually keeps an eye on things inside while on a trip so it's easy to know nothing is in the way on the return. &nbsp;When arriving at camp we both are conscious of what we store on the floor in travel and look for it before sliding out.</div><div><br></div><div>For us, we learned our lesson and developed a routine to remedy the situation without any physical type of change needed.</div><div><br></div><div>Sure do miss that sign though....</div><div><br></div><div><img src="https://www.rpod-owners.com/smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" alt="LOL" title="LOL" /><br></br></div>]]>

I also keep my fingers and toes clear of car doors when they open and close and stuff like that. <br><br>There are MILLIONS of travel trailer slides on the road, and it seems to be a non-issue for, well, most of them. Again, yes stuff can get caught in the slide. Check before moving it. <br>]]>

When the slide is closed it would be bunched up, and would block that space. Why not?]]>

Even with a headlamp and on hands and knees, it's a little hard to monitor. To do it right, you have to get on your hands and knees with a flash light and take a good look.
