Bearclaw, That's what I was told when I bought my 179.  Sold my 2010 173 with the r-dome b/c of that.
Told by my dealer that FR is remaking the dome for the 179 and it should be ready in a month.  I'll bet that some of the members will find a way to make the old ones fit but since I sold mine I didn't even check into it.  Good travels.  Ray

We decided against getting the R Dome for our 179. Because of the configuration with the door at the rear of the coach the Rdome tie down interfers with the entrance. Realy the Dome is for center door models. If Forest River comes up with a suitable awning We will buy it.
