We have had "issues" on this since we bought our 177 back in February 2011.  First found out about this when we were camping in the U.P. in May of that year.  Woke up with about a dozen mosquito bites and about 50 more inside!!!  I thought I must of left the door open; quickly realized that the ONLY way for them to enter was through the breaches you mentioned.  I have used both duct tape and an old t-shirt - both took care of the problem.  I have used the t shirt option since the first year since it is reusable (the tape loses its stickiness after one or two uses).  The only potential problem would be if you FORGET to remove it before closing the slide.  Haven't tried that option yet and hopefully my memory will prevent me from trying it. 

We have been camping with our 177 for 4 seasons now and the only times I use the t-shirt to close the breaches is if we are in snake country or in very buggy conditions, otherwise I leave it as is w/o any problems.

Oh wow, this is a tough one...because anything that you stuff into the outside or inside to insulate and block the airflow will run the risk on jamming your slide when you pull it in. It seams the area to attack may be the cabinetry inside where the slide meets the frame of the unit. Maybe you can add a sweep that won't get in the way of articulating the slide and block some of the airflow. Hmm, interesting. I will be following this one for sure, interested to hear other responses and what you end up doing about it. does anyone have any suggestions on air breaches at the bottom of the slide?  its not horrible, but definately there.  its along the bottom seal/flap.  i guess it's just as much an issue in hot weather as cold. i noticed it when i had the panels off cleaning the filter screen(really nothing there but wanted to check). just want to get the most bang for my heat!!  hogone   ]]> Sun, 21 Sep 2014 08:50:48 +0000 http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=5327&PID=51750#51750
