The 179 has a completely different slide mechanism with 4 motors. Swintec I think. Yes, that is my understanding. Our 182 does that also. So, the wratcheting sound at the end is ok? I thought it sounded bad, so we just let it come in and stop it. Confirmed, during my walk through the RV tech retracted the slide and I observed outside and in fact, the top does hit first, then it draws the bottom in. Answered on the other forum but this is normal and the way our slides work, they are one track so they are going to go back and fourth and then click click click at the end once both top and bottom are fully retracted or extended.

Unless you have a 179, they have a different slideout completely.

I have a question about the slide-out. When retracting our slideout the top of the unit hits before the bottom. The motor strains but still pulls the bottom in completely until it seals and the ratchet sounds. Do all slide-outs operate like ours or should the seal hit top and bottom at the same time?
