    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=1346" rel="nofollow">Old Dingo&Mrs.Dingo</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 5319<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 20 Sep 2014 at 5:13pm<br /><br />Those 3.8s are real dogs, the 3.6 does a much better job. &nbsp;In a pinch, I've towed my (700# empty) utility trailer hauling a 3500# pallet of bricks with my '13 JK two door, plenty of power, handled the weight just fine. &nbsp;Luckily, I hit the sweet spot as far as tongue weight was concerned. &nbsp;On the other hand I used my '02 TJ to bring my empty 181G (2748# per Forest River) home on a rainy day. &nbsp;Even going very slow (as if a 4.0 could go fast anywhere but downhill) it was sheer terror! &nbsp;Never again!&nbsp;]]>

I have just recently done a ton of research on towing and IMHO 3,000 is not enough and its only one of several other factors that must be considered. I found an excellent paper on how to tow safely.
