As a example, I needed to do the sanitization process on my very recently purchased RP-180, but it failed - all that happened was red liquid and air instead of water out of the faucets. I used google and found that this is a symptom of being winterized. I was then able to google some more and find a generic diagram the explains the correct configuration of the valves. All good so far, but to fix that I had to locate the water pump and associated valves.

That was not easy because the general manual does not go into that level of detail. "They're in there somewhere" wasn't the level of help that I needed at this early point in my R-pod ownership.

Google helped me out again - I was lucky that someone else had pointed out the relative difficulty of having to remove the mattress and underlying boards - I'd still be looking if I hadn't tripped across that. I think these kinds of thing might vary by floor plan and I can see where it would require a lot of effort to create/maintain documents for each floor plan (which would add to purchase cost), but I also think there is a definite need/audience for it.

Of course a forum such as this one is why I chose an R-pod in the first place, so it's not like I'm hung out to dry, but it would seem to make sense for the manufacturer to provide a bit more documentation at a more detailed level.

It would be nice to have a specific manual for 'inexperienced' camper haulers.
We're starting small with the 171, and are appreciative of all the information on this Forum, but we are still struggling with what seems to be basic knowledge.
The salesman said we were late for our walk through, although we didn't have an appointment. The dealership was selling the Pod used, and didn't usually sell Forest River products, so was unfamiliar with it's workings, and rushed us through to get us out the door.
I feel lost when it comes to the furnace, water heater, propane regulators, pilot lights (??) battery hookups/external power, etc, etc, etc.
We have a few friends who have campers and with their help, and the seemingly endless knowledge and experience from everybody here on this Forum, we will fumble through..
It would be nice, though, to have a basic, step-by-step, set up procedure at the campground, basic dumping procedure, water filling procedures, and the list goes on.
