We just wanted to see how easy it was. It is easier with two, especially with a small breeze. but it added a whole new dimension to the space.<br />No one seemed to mind, although there weren't any rules that I saw about tents, even though this isn't really a tent, it's our awning!!<br /><br /><br /><img src="uploads/3170/rdome.jpg" border="0" />]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=3022" rel="nofollow">Mountainrev</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 5243<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 10 Sep 2014 at 12:42pm<br /><br />Budward:&nbsp; We were in Glacier Park (Many Glacier campground) in August, and saw at least 12 bears, most of them grizzlies.&nbsp; That included two at very close range (10 yards) directly off the trail we were hiking up.&nbsp; The huckleberries were in season, so the bears seemed to be focused only on them, not on hikers, thankfully.<br><br>Many Glacier had lots of bear boxes--at least one for every two sites.&nbsp; Our site had its own bear box located next to the picnic table.&nbsp; It was great for storing our frequently-used propane grill, since I hate putting it in the car or camper (makes everything smell like grilled meat).<br><br>The OP question about R Domes and no-tent policies is a good one.&nbsp; We just got our Pod, and it didn't come with an R Dome.&nbsp; We always used the canopy on our popup, so we think we'll be wanting some sort of canopy for the Pod, but will play it by ear for now.&nbsp; We may buy an R Dome, but I'm concerned about the size of it.&nbsp; We often don't have much room next to the door at the campsites we use, so I'm a bit skeptical that we'd be able to set up an R Dome very often.<br>]]>

We have camped with probably a hundred different pods at this point, and only once with a T model.<br><br>I do understand there are campgrounds with no awning/tent/mat/easyup rules. Have not stayed in one yet. I guess I would if I had to, but I would just go somewhere else if at all possible. I doubt they will give you grief about the "tent" on a T model, since it isn't on the ground, which is the issue. That style of TT is called a "hybrid", and there are LOTS of other brands with a hybrid model... I do understand there are some western National Parks that don't allow "soft sides".. because of bears and such..<br>]]>

Reason being is that they have a sprinkler system installed that they water the grass with at night. Its so dry out there that no watering means a dusty sandy campsite. The thing that bothered us the most was the no campfire rule. We'll need to get a campfire in a can....]]>

Actually we haven't taken delivery of our Pod yet. (48 more hours)<br />But we have been doing all kinds of research on everything RV'ing. One thing we have run across is several campgrounds have rules like no tents whatsoever. <br /><br />So my question is, have any of you who have read this and own the Rpod, especially the 176T and R-Dome, have you gotten any static from campgrounds while using your tent and R-dome Awning?<br /><br />I don't consider the R-dome a tent myself as it serves as our RV awning, <br /><br />Thoughts??<br /><br />Thank you in advance<br /><br />]]>
